The Most Takanaka Shirt We've Ever Seen

We unboxed the samples at STOKYO HQ and the whole room lost it. This graphic is loud, in the best possible way.

Here's what's going on across the chest:

• Takanaka himself, in cartoon form with shades and that signature mustache grin. He's skydiving in a blue jumpsuit with a parachute pack strapped on.
• A red surfboard that's also an electric guitar. It has a yellow neck and headstock, strings, and red volume and tone knobs, with "TAKANAKA" scripted across the nose.
• A red, yellow, and blue rainbow arching behind a huge, blocky yellow "TAKANAKA" logo, topped with five white stars.
• A tropical island with palm trees and breaking waves, plus a black helicopter, puffy clouds, and a jagged music-note burst.
• "MASAYOSHI" with マサヨシ in katakana, stacked in red and black at the top left.
• And the best part, printed in a distressed type at the bottom right: "THIS IS A T-SHIRT FOR THE SUPER TAKANAKA WORLD LIVE 2026 TOUR."

Why Takanaka Matters

Masayoshi Takanaka cut his teeth in the legendary Sadistic Mika Band before launching a solo career in the mid-'70s. Albums like Seychelles, An Insatiable High, and the fantasy concept epic The Rainbow Goblins fused jazz, rock, funk, and Latin grooves into something nobody else sounded like. His bright, singing Strat tone became one of the defining sounds of Japanese fusion. And yes, he really did take a surfboard-shaped guitar on stage, which is exactly why this graphic hits so hard.

The "Super Takanaka" name? Longtime fans will catch the nod to his classic Super Takanaka Live! era. That's a deep cut, and we love that the tour team went there.
