The Jackson 5's 1971 album Maybe Tomorrow, on 180g clear light green vinyl from Japan. This is the record where the brothers slowed down and got deeper: the original "Never Can Say Goodbye," the title ballad, and some of the most-sampled grooves in their catalog. This limited 2026 Japanese pressing includes new Japanese liner notes by Yoshiro Takahashi, plus lyrics and translations. New.

About the album

Released by Motown on April 12, 1971, Maybe Tomorrow moved the Jackson 5 past bubblegum soul into lusher, more grown-up territory. Producer Hal Davis and Motown's team the Corporation surrounded the brothers with strings and horns arranged by Gene Page and James Carmichael, and 12-year-old Michael rises to it on the title track and Clifton Davis's "Never Can Say Goodbye." Jermaine steps forward too, singing lead on "She's Good" and "I Will Find a Way." It sold less than their first three albums, but crate diggers and producers have kept returning to it ever since.
