About the album

Released in October 1979, MOONGLOW is Tatsuro Yamashita's fourth album and the record that set up his breakthrough: a year later "RIDE ON TIME" made him a star. It was the first studio album on the new AIR label, with most lyrics by Minako Yoshida and music by Yamashita, and it mixes tight funk ("FUNKY FLUSHIN'," "HOT SHOT") with lush ballads like "永遠のFULL MOON" and "愛を描いて -LET'S KISS THE SUN-." It spent 50 weeks on Oricon's LP chart, his longest run up to that point, and won Best Album at the 22nd Japan Record Awards. This edition is part of the TATSURO YAMASHITA RCA/AIR YEARS Vinyl Collection, which reissued his 1976–1982 catalog in 2023.
